Lo-Fi Comp:
For this one I spent a while in the booths trying to think of chords to use for the song and it turned into a relaxing track to listen to as normally all Lo-Fi Hip Hop tracks are, the technique to making one is to use distortion on the instruments and add a sample.
Track Title: Can You See Me
Genre/Style: Lo-Fi
Instrumentation(include details of composition techniques and evidence of research/examples):
You can see all the instruments I used in the screenshots of the song layout so you can see that the instruments used are good for the genre of music that it is, I used distortion effects on the instruments to give a better low fidelity feel to the song as typically in that genre the music sounds more lazy and a bit distorted.

Structure(include details of composition techniques and evidence of research/examples):
The structure is made to try and keep it quiet overall and not cause too many layers so it sounds more relaxed and easy going, it’s also the same to look at so that causes it to be easier to understand
Mix (include details of production techniques and evidence of research/examples):
I don’t have evidence of the fade tool applied on the tracks but I did use it on the start of the sample from freesound.org and also on the piano and the bass to cut out some unwanted sounds at the start of the track.
Any other comments (overall evaluation, successes and areas for development):
I am probably the happiest with this one as it sounds the nicest to me and I prefer the genre too. The song could definitely be improved by adding a better drum kit and making more layers to add to the track, I could have also made a slightly more complicated piano piece to make it sound more relaxed.

Track Title: Unsorted but Neat
Genre/Style: Drum and Bass
Instrumentation(include details of composition techniques and evidence of research/examples):
The instruments used are as follows:
- Drum Kit from Logic, Multiple of them
- Wobble Buzz Bass
- Epic Electro Drum Pad
- Modern Club Drum Pad
- Mega Wobble Bass
- Electro Fizz Bass
- Classic Electric Piano
These help to create the drum and bass feel due to the nature of the instruments being quite heavy to create that rough feel of the song and make it sound better.

Structure(include details of composition techniques and evidence of research/examples):
The structure is made so that it would start off light and build up to a heavy part where all the instruments would kick off together and for the most part it went well the only thing that didn’t go well in my opinion was the way I tried to switch parts using the static noise on one of the EDM kits.
Mix (include details of production techniques and evidence of research/examples):
In terms of mix the only technique me and Aaron really used to make the song was use the modulation wheel on the midi keyboard to get the bass a different sound at different rates of a ‘wobble’ effect.
Any other comments (overall evaluation, successes and areas for development):
I personally am not too happy with this composition compared to the rest but it shall suffice, I do believe I could improve it though by making my own drum beat for example.

Track Title:
Genre/Style:
Instrumentation(include details of composition techniques and evidence of research/examples):
This song uses a few more instruments with a slightly more amount of layers playing at one time while also doing a riff repeated, these are the instruments:
- Modern Stack amp
- 80’s Wave Synth
- Classic House Organ
- After Party Drum Pad
- Slow Jam Drum Kit
- Room Guitar
- Blue Cavern
The song is a bit odd in the way that it sounds but still creates a beat that you could move to and the instruments combined together create an almost atmospheric feel to the song and makes it a bit wavy.

Structure(include details of composition techniques and evidence of research/examples):
The structure is a bit all over the place and it starts of as the main bit with the first bar having no drums and then adding them after, the song then breaks down and the instruments add in at different times to show the layering of the song and how it was made almost.
Mix (include details of production techniques and evidence of research/examples):
Not much was done for this, the amp had the levels of the EQ edited such as turning up the low level and high and then lowering middle as vocals aren’t used in that line so the bass can then be more pronounced, we used the equaliser to remove some of the high notes that were created from the movement of the fingers across the fret board.
Any other comments (overall evaluation, successes and areas for development):
I need to give credit to Theo and Beth who helped contribute in the making of this song even though it was more just brainstorming and everyone just throwing in anything we could think of it actually took shape to go towards my compositions in my course. I am okay with this song I just more think that it is a bit of a mess too and could be improved if it was quantised and actually had some more time put into it.
